Left in the salt mines of Endovier to die for her crimes, Celaena Sardothien has been given a second chance by Crown Prince Dorian. With her widely-feared skills as an assassin, she is just the player the prince needs to compete for the role of the Royal Champion. Celaena, however, despises the King and must figure out her own role to play that satisfies her need for freedom.
This book was utterly fantastic. I’m just going to say it now. It was the pick me up I needed after a bunch of ho-hum books—partly because, deep down, I love a good fantasy. Especially the kind that make its world seem more real than the one I’m in. I highly recommend the book. Mass’s characters are so deep and believable. And the story? Oh my gosh. Anyway, excuse me while I sing a rhapsody of praises…
